Firebase and FERPA Compliance

Does anybody know if Firebase if FERPA compliant? I know it isn't HIPAA compliant, but I believe FERPA's standards are laxer. Any info or even conjecture is much appreciated! Thanks.

That's a new one on me, that said - https://cloud.google.com/security/compliance/ferpa/ is the Cloud page on FERPA, and only lists g suite.

Did you have any luck finding an answer on this? I too am interested in knowing whether we can use Firebase when FERPA compliance is expected, or whether we must find another solution.

End-to-end encryption can be a solution to FERPA, as for HIPAA too. End-to-end encryption enables you in both cases to not see/not be able to breach out data in lack of the end-user private keys.

Both regulations consist of data security and process/governance requirements - E2EE enables you to meet most of the data security requirements.
