Hey,

since they are not mentioned upfront on the Firebase Pricing page, do egress rates apply for Firebase Storage content? And if they do, are they similar to Google Cloud Storage egress rates, which seem to be at 120$ per Terabyte (at least) pretty expensive...

Thanks in advance,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Sorry for any confusion. On the pricing page for storage (blaze plan), we mention "GB downloaded" as ~$0.12/GB, with a footnote, "This is the estimated pricing for common usage. In the Blaze Plan, File Storage is charged by Google Cloud Storage, and prices vary based on usage volumes. See Google Cloud pricing for more detail." Is there a better way we can display this so it is mentioned upfront?

We say "about $0.12" because that price varies by volume, egress location, etc. and we wanted to keep the pricing page clear while allowing devs to dive into Cloud pricing if they want.

As for whether or not it's expensive, the going rate for bandwidth is ~$0.10/GB (AWS S3, Cloudfront, Fastly, all charge around this), so I don't think it's out of the ball park.

Thanks,
--Mike
