Does https://firepad.io/ uses web-socket to send data to Firebase instead of REST API calls? Does anyone know a simpler compilation and execution solution for codes submitted via Firepad?

Firepad uses the Firebase JS SDK not the REST API, you can see the full source code here and fork if if you want to try your hand at a simpler solution:- Sam
