Firebase Analytics user id and Google Analytics user id

Hi all, In our Android project we are using Firebase Analytics and we are planning to connect Firebase with GA account as described here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2587086?hl=en GA has ability to track user id and there is a great documentation about it. Firebase Analytics also has such ability but the docs don't have a lot of info about this feature. So the question is will it be feasible to track GA user id via Firebase Analytics SDK? Or these user ids have nothing common in-between? Thanks in advance, Pavel

You can track it as a user property, but there isn't anything special in common. However, if you do track it as a property, you can then join the data between your GA and GA for Firebase projects in BigQuery - take a look at the guide here: https://cloud.google.com/blog/big-data/2017/04/how-to-do-cross-platform-analytics-with-google-bigquery

Hi Pavel,

there is actually a field where you can set the user id in Firebase but I would recommend to also put it in a user property (for filtering within the interface): Firebase’s custom user id value can be set using the setUserId API and is stored in the user_dim.user_id field in BigQuery.
