I currently have a listener that listens to updates for one of my Firestore collections, I wanted to only display the updated data when they were committed to Firestore. I know that I can listen to metadata changes to determine this, this means that the listener would fire more than once with the same document data (only metadata is updated). My question is: would I be charged for multiple reads when a document's metadata changes and the listener fires multiple times?

Hi there,

That's a good question! No, subscribing to metadata changes won't change anything about billing. It's a purely client-side feature to determine how/when your snapshot listener should fire.
