Firebase hosting issue - not able to verify Godaddy domain details

I had earlier hosted the application on firebase and it worked fine but recently it failed to verify the Domain details from Godaddy account. 

I have updated the txt value in Godaddy DNS settings (cross checked with Godaddy customer care too) with the given firebase one but still not able to verify it. 

Godaddy customer care is suggested to enter the firebase nameserver details in Godaddy. But I don't know about the firebase nameserver information to upload also referring to this medium article. It is not suggested. 

Please guide me on how to work it out. Its our live server.

I have missed to add the medium article I was referring to. Refer the below link, I was following it and it was suggested not to change any nameserver values.

Hello,

If you go into your hosting admin panel, add the custom domain, it will provide the IPs and instructions you need to put into your DNS settings.

I think that article does in fact suggest changes to the NS values, which is definitely required to make this work: "15. Paste the A records in GoDaddy records too. Remove any existing A records."

Kato, I think this is adding to the confusion a little - an NS record is very different to an A record or a CNAME. An NS record 'delegates a DNS zone to use the given authoritative name servers' [wikipedia] and isn't something you need to (or even can) do with Firebase Hosting. GoDaddy support are assuming Firebase Hosting hosts DNS zones, and it doesn't (the 'nameserver details')

You'll either need to manage your DNS with GoDaddy [easiest], or delegate to a completely separate DNS provider [probably out of scope for this thread]. The medium post you referred to talks about how to use GoDaddy to manage your DNS, what issue in particular are you running into?

Hi Chris, 

I have contacted google support and they have responded with details. 

Root cause: 

While updating the TXT records in godaddy, Host name should "@". I had earlier entered "firebase" as wrongly. So, changed this value from firebase to @ and verification is successful. 

This might be useful for others.
