Hi All,

I have been reviewing different crash report solutions for our games. Some of them have millions of players, and they generate a high volume of crashes a day.
In the Firebase pricing webpage, Crashlytics show as free for any plan. Really? I wonder if Crashlytics has any sort of usage quota. And if the quota is reached, how is the excess priced?

Thanks in advance,
Dante

Hello Dante,

It is indeed free and it does indeed scale (we're Google after all). There are no documented usage quotas that I can find. Millions of players should be perfectly fine.

Hi Kato,

thanks for the message. I sent an email to Firebase support, and they answered with a few points:
  • We should aim for up to 1 crash per second per app. That's for fatal and non-fatal exceptions. I was not given a hard number here.
  • Firebase will blacklist builds (temporarily) that are sending an excessive number of crashes or non fatal errors.
  • There is no feature for paying for the excess. Indeed, they mentioned they had just filed a feature request for it.

Cheers,
Dante
