Coreference Resolution (CR) is the task of finding all linguistic expressions (called mentions) in a given text or document that refer to the same real-world entity. Mentions are textual references to real world entities, like people, places or organizations. There are many challenges associated with coreference resolution and they include language ambiguity, different ways of referring to entities, and the need to understand context. This shared task deals with multilingual coreference resolution and has the following tasks
Task A: Anaphora resolution in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu The anaphors include Pronominals, Reflexives, Reciprocals, Distributives
Task B: Coreference Resolution in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu
The participants will develop NLP systems for the two tasks mentioned
Task A: Anaphora resolution in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu Participants are expected to develop systems which resolve the anaphora and its antecedent in the languages mentioned. The data provided will be annotated for anaphor-antecedent pairs in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. The anaphors include Pronominals, Reflexives, Reciprocals, Distributives. The participants have to resolve all types of anaphors mentioned above.
Task B: Coreference Resolution in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu The participants are expected to develop systems which will give the coreference chains. The coreference chain annotated texts in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu will be given as dataset to the participants.
