Dear colleague,

 

I am emailing you today because we would like to ask you to fill out a survey regarding the question of how to enhance stakeholder engagement at the country level in the Climate Investment Funds (CIF). Please disregard this e-mail if you have already filled out the survey – we appreciate your prompt response earlier last month.

 

As was discussed at the CIF Stakeholder Day and Partnership Forum, the CIF have strongly emphasized stakeholder engagement, and you have already contributed to this in your role as Observer in the CIF governance committees. A paper on enhancing stakeholder engagement in the CIF has been commissioned, stemming from the proposals made by CIF Committee Observers in their submission of October 29, 2013. After deliberating on this submission, the CIF Joint Trust Fund agreed to appoint a consultant to study this issue and prepare a paper with suggestions and ideas to strengthen the engagement of national stakeholders at the country level, including in CIF project design, implementation and monitoring. I have been appointed for this task.

 

The purpose of this survey is to inform this paper. Our survey asks how important you regard the contributions or potential contributions of various stakeholders to the work of the CIF, and how you see the role of these stakeholders going forward as the CIF’s 48 countries move from investment planning to implementation.
