This paper is one amongst many of FIORA's concern that deals
genuienely about the protection of the indigenous race of Fiji and its
resources. It highlights the evil onslaught of capitalism via
globalisation that may cause the cultural genocide and the
environmental rape of our resources. Not only does it erodes the
identity of a race with its resources, it if not harnessed as
exemplified in this discussion may continue to feed on the evil nature
of greed for wealth, lust for power and thus to the expense of the
people and resources. Poverty and unemployment as is now experienced
in Vatukoula is not a theory of discussion but the reality of this as
a consequence.Undoubtedly criminal activities will follow.

I applaud the work of FIORA as it has the wisdom and resources to
foresee the future and to take appropriate actions now to challenge
the force of the future.
