It is with deep regret that we forward the news that Dr. Henry Munroe has passed away.  Those of you who have been around the New Hampshire fire service for a while will remember that Dr. Munroe was instrumental in the establishment of the New Hampshire Fire Standards and Training Commission, and later was one of the founding fathers of today's fire academy.  Dr. Munroe was also one of the original five founders of the Fire Instructors & Officers Association of New Hampshire.  His contributions to fire training in New Hampshire have, and will continue to, literally affect every firefighter in the state for generations to come.

Calling hours are tomorrow, August 21, 2014 from 1600-2000 hours at Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke, NH.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 22, 2014 at 1100 hours at Pembroke Congregational Church, 301 Pembroke Street, Pembroke, NH.

Below is a link to Dr. Munore's obituary in the Concord Monitor.  May his legacy live on through our actions as we continue to provide the best training possible to New Hampshire's fire service.

Respectfully,

Chris Johnson, Vice President
Fire Instructors & Officers Association of New Hampshire
