Contemporary Tactics

for Modern Fireground

Timothy E. Sendelbach,

Editor and Chief Fire Rescue Magazine

Today's fireground continues to mystify even the most knowledgeable and experienced fire service experts. Changes in modern building construction and fuel loading, coupled with the ongoing advancements in firefighting technology have brought about a desperate need to adjust our traditional tactics. This high impact, high-energy program will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn and discuss the safest, most effective strategy and tactics for the modern fireground. Using student response technologies, computer based simulations and recent case studies; this program will challenge the most seasoned tacticians while providing a more in-depth understanding of modern strategic and tactical operations. Interactive discussions will include: scene safety and size-up, fire ground communications, tactical prioritization, task coordination, personnel tracking and air management, hose line deployment, fire stream management and much, much more. Be prepared to get engaged, get involved and defend your decisions.
