He is grateful to have a long list ofhappy clients that include Celebrities, Pro Athletes, Fortune 500 companies and many of the most prestigious people in the world. But, beyond the fancy credits, Michael's focus is more about the loveshared between all people and their closest furry companions.
Michael recalls the inspiration behind painting dogs, "as a boy of 9 years old, my first experience with these wonderful animals was with our first dog Sammy, aWest Highland Terrier, who showed me that between two beings it only takes one to make a relationship work." "I noticed that no matter my own mood, Sammys only response in return was to show love.""This was tremendously impressive, and eventually led to my own evolution inward, thinking that if we could all achieve what dogs are expressing so naturally as unconditional love, what a beautifulworld it would be!" "Sometimes our teachers are not who we expect them to be." "From that point on, my heart was open and decided to paint my first canvas of Sammy. This led to creating a life ofcelebrating our deep connection with dogs through my work as a painter."

So lets open the proverbial can of worms here and discuss craft paint . No matter what your feelings one way or the other it is the red headed step child of the paint world.
So im curious what people think of it???
However, all of this was painted using cheap craft paints, either nearly full strength (the white-black cap stones and the flat, vertical sides) or with washes and stains on the rocky, stony earth and the cut stone walls.
I make thinner from 50% bottled water and 50% future . that is used to thin the paint to a milky consistency , a bit on the heavier side . Spray light coats over a god primer.
I also use a hair dryer on low to accelerate the dry time.
Then this morning I masked the model with blue tack and sprayed a mix of Apple barrel Jet black and army painter white thinned with water and future as Chris said under a heat lamp with my dual action cheap Master airbrush. It worked really well! It sprayed about as nicely as the AK paint did!
Vasari paints are expensive, but they run sales (20% off) on a different color category each month. If you stock up on colors when they are on sale, they are only a little bit more expensive than Harding.
Michael (who passed away in 2000 at age 27) was a prodigious artist (see examples below). Unlike Koko, who liked to paint either on a table or an easel, Michael would usually paint with the canvas on the ground, Jackson Pollack style. Regardless of how complex the painting, he would always complete it in minutes, a skill that astounded anyone who watched.
The blog was very interesting and informative. The blog provided all the essential information regarding painting the dark ceiling. The materials, equipment, and steps you need to do are all listed in the blog. Thanks for sharing such piece of information to widen our knowledge.
the roots of every art must be in the country of the artist, and no men can have two countries; and this applies with greater force to the artist than to anyone else, for the true painter must be part of the land and of the life he paints.
First of all I have that same Bombay table on my upstairs landing and I wanted to take the plunge to paint it ASCP. I have the old white and love it but I was holding out for the pure white or whatever it is called to be released next month. I also have what looks like that same mirror (but it is my powder room-I guess great minds think alike.
I have never used chalk paint as I have never seen it in canada but it seems to be to just be like any old flat paint. I am not a fan of the distressed look so though I love the table in white the distressing does nothing for me.
I love Michael Buble too, he has a great voice, jealous you got to see him live!!! when you use chalk paint, do you use the expensive Annie Sloane wax or some other brand? Do you think it would be ok to put minwax polycrylic over it? I really want to try chalk paint since it gets so many rave reviews but the price tag is deterring me, if I have to buy the special wax I may not do it at all because that makes it even pricier.
Kate!!!!!!!! My sister has this exact table in her front hall. It so needs updating (looks more like an apartment table) and I told her about the chalk paint and your insanely awesome ideas!!!! We are planning on attending an Annie Sloan workshop next month. Will keep you posted. You are the best.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from originally and when did art first enter your life?
I grew up in North East Los Angeles in a neighborhood that had coyotes, ruins of old houses and a little pond, so I spent my time exploring. I would find old furniture and things on the street and my parents would let me bring them home and build things out of them. I still make paintings in this way; cobbling together scraps of things to make an image.
My mother taught art at a high school during the day and at a community college at night. Many times she would bring me to her night class, give me some art materials and let me paint and draw in the corner. This gave me the ability to paint for hours at a time, which helped me in my studio practice later on.
At the end of every interview, we like to ask the artist to recommend a friend whose work you love for us to interview next. Who would you suggest?
Nancy Kay Turner, a Los Angeles based multidisciplinary artist.
Being a good artist or good designer isn't just knowing how to use the tools you have, although it does help. The greatest artist can work with the most minimal of tools and come up with something of greatness that surpasses those who are still arguing about which paint brush or protractor is superior.
Visionary art is, I think, an approach to creative work that reflects personal archetypal experiences of the world at large. This reflection couples - and this is incredibly important and vital - the artist's own inner world and its dynamic interplay of emotions, archetypes, spiritual understandings with a broader world view exploring a particular idea or experience. It is neither a painting of a thing or simply the absolute abstraction to a point where ideas no longer apply. Instead, the best works of this type are a marriage of both inner and outer, the real and the abstract, the surreal, the mystical, and the dreamlike. This interplay can create or invoke a sensation that, when successful, is like a wordless dialogue between the inner formless world of the viewer and the inner formless world of the artist. The artist shares a vision - and idea - a perspective - of the world, their place in the world, and their understanding, in a sense, of where we as humans are or aspire to be in that equation.
A number of years ago I was in a bookstore browsing art books as usual. In one book talking about the 'business of art'. In the book, the author wrote that if you find something you like to paint and you also find it sells, then you ought to paint more of that thing. For instance, the author said, if you paint cats and people like and buy those paintings of cats and buy those cat paintings, then paint more cats! And more cats! (This was the late-90s, by the way, and the internet had yet to be taken over by felines.) At the time, I thought that sounded a whole lot like selling out. Why would I want to paint the same thing over and over and over again? BOOOOORING.

I feel like I have gotten to know many of the people who purchase my art, I think they are hard working families that appreciate life and love to smile. I paint for a couple magazines that cater to chicken people and local farmers. One of those is GRIT. I love their style and the helpfulness of their publication.
