by Varun Mehta, Director, Deutsche Bank CIB Centre
Varun will give you an insider's view on
1. How the global financial markets have evolved,
2. The major events which have shaped the industry
3. And the direction it is and may move towards
We believe this is of significance for aspiring investment bankers as they
get to take a
macro view of the industry and will enable their decision process with
regards to their career.
Quant Lab 101 - A workshop to learn how the quants aid trading decisions.
How many of us know that there are certain jobs in investment banks that
only engineers
can do? Ok, may be mathematicians and statisticians too, but they are a
part of the "quant" family.
This interactive workshop is a great opportunity for you to sneek a peek
into the kind of
problems quants encounter in their daily job, and more importantly, help
you solve them.
These are real problems that are critical to the bank's trading decisions.
All we ask you is to bring your grey cells, with a little bit of matrices,
linear algebra
and statistics background. (Don't worry, we'll refresh most of it ;-)
We'll describe the model,
the problems and enable you to come up with solutions right there and
then!
(Please bring along a notebook/rough sheets)
