Hi all,

Here is another puzzle for you guys to try out. Pretty interesting according to me and very likely to be asked during interviews.

There are 5 people and 100 gold coins. They need to share it among themselves. They decide the following scheme to share the coins:
The oldest among them will propose a division scheme. Then all of them, including the oldest who proposed the scheme will vote. If 50% or more agree to it then, that scheme is followed, else the oldest is killed, and the entire procedure is repeated again. Considering all the 5 are smart, greedy and do not want to die, what is the scheme that the oldest in the group should propose

Enjoy...Will post the solution soon

Regards

Hi all,

I just gave the Optiver Technical Test today. It is a trading firm based in Amsterdam. It was the 3rd and final test consisting of mainly puzzles. The reason I am writing this is that one of the Questions on the test for 15 marks was the Puzzle 4 that I sent to you today in the afternoon. Totally unexpected, but got me 15 marks without much effort on the paper.

SO do attempt the puzzles that I post honestly and with dedication. You never know when one of them appears on a crucial test.

P.S. The rest of the paper was pretty tough and I dont think I am gonna make it thru neways :)....but nevertheless...15 marks in the kitty
