Hi all,

Here is one puzzle that was asked on the Optiver test this year.

There a desert 1000 miles long between where you are and a Market. You have 3000 bananas that you need to take to the market. You have a camel that can transport you throught the desert. However, the camel can only carry a maximum of 1000 bananas at a time. Also, every mile that the camel walks on the desert, it needs to eat 1 banana. Given this situation, how many maximum bananas can you transport to the market? Assume that you do not need to eat anything yourself, and, you don't want your camel to die midway of hunger.

P.S. Do not post the answers on this group or mail them to me. I will post the solution myself in a couple of days.

There is a possible amendment to the question:
"The camel can travel any long without eating a banana if it doesn't have to carry a load"
PS: You can even solve the question without this amendment but you just get a different answer!!
