Hi all,

Hope all of you have given the earlier 2 puzzles a good attempt. Here is another one. This one will definitely need a pen and paper, so keep them handy....here we go

Q. You have 4 chips of unknown weights. You also have a beam balance. Using these 4 chips and the balance, you are required to measure every weight from 1 kg to 40 kgs (i.e. 1, 2,3,4,5...).     What should be the weight of the 4 chips so that you can achieve this?

P.S.: Obviously, the chips need to be of different weights each for this to be possible?

Please do not post the answer on this group, or mail the same to me, since my inbox gets hammered. Give it your best shot and I will post the solution over the weekend.
