Hello fellow Landmark Players! We are from Bradley West located in
Bradley, IL. Bradley (with a population of approximately 10,500) is a
growing community 60 minutes south of Chicago. Bradley West is a Grade 3-5
building with six to eight classes per grade (22-28 students per class). We
have three buildings in our district: a K-2 building, 3-5 building, and
the Jr. High Gr6-8. Our building is situated right by the Perry Farm and
the Children's Museum. At the end of every school year we have Field Day
where all students participate in the Class Olympics, as well as picnics on
the lawn, dancing and soak the principals. We have another day that is a
reward to our top readers in the school and we take a hiking trip and
picnic through the Perry Farm trails. The Kankakee River runs through the
back of the Perry Farm and through our two neighboring cities (Kankakee and
Bourbonnais). Summertime brings in speed boats and the Regatta (Speed Boat
Racing) is on Labor Day Weekend. During the year, students frequent the
Northfield Square Mall or Hidden Cove (minigolf--indoor and outdoor, arcade
room, obstacle course room, skating, go-carts, driving range and batting
cages).
We are really looking forward to this year's contest! Last year
was our first year and although we didn't do a terrific job, it really
involved a lot of the student body not just the Learning Explorer Students.
We hope to include even more kids this year.
Good luck to all of you!!

The Learning Explorers of Bradley West
