I need to make sure a platform is level before I can proceed with my
experiment. One of my collegues suggested an inclin-o-meter, where do I
begin?

First we need to define or narrow your parameters. To best serve your
needs please provide a brief description of your application and how
you would like the sensor to operate - that we can be assured to
provide you with the best solution.
Rieker inclinometers (or angle of tilt sensor) are available in single
and dual axis packages, with 4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V, PWM, RS232, RS485,
and digital LCD display outputs as well as our mechanical ball in glass
tube inclinometers. We would need to know your angle ranges, type of
output, expected accuracy, operating temperatures and environment.
There are many technologies utilized for making inclinometers, each
provide a certain number of characteristics more suitable for different
types of applications. Just make sure you are comparing apples to
apples when comparing sensors, including the sensor accuracy
specification (which is a combination of a variety of factors.
Feel free to contact me directly for any questions or additional
information.
