Panhandle Bandshell Named "Best of the Bay"

we're proud to let you know that the panhandle bandshell was included
in the sf bay guardian's "best of the bay" issue, on newsstands this
week! the bandshell was given the nod as "best music to our ears" in
this year's awards. very cool!

check it out, and also check out the issue's centerfold, where you'll
see a wonderful picture of a couple hundred hippies gathered in front
of the bandshell, celebrating the 40th anniversary of their
participation in the summer of love (and trying to remember what the
hell it was they actually *did* that year).

what's even better is that, since the bandshell has been up, we've had
a great response from members of the community, performers, passers-by
and -- yes -- even immediate neighbors, who are truly enjoying the
bandshell as an art installation and as a performance stage. to see
