Hi Amol,
Happy spring break! Though I don't believe we've ever met, my name is
Raquel Lucente and I am the Recruitment Director for Teach For America
here at UC Berkeley. Katie Aholt forwarded me the email chain below where
you asked her if our founder and CEO, Wendy Kopp, would be available to be
the key note speaker for your social entrepreneurship event on April 13.
Like Katie said, Wendy is unfortunately not available, but if you tell me
a bit more about the event, I can look to see if I can be a resource to
you in finding someone else.
Please do let me know!
Thanks so much,
Raquel

Dear Amol,
Many thanks for extending the invitation to Wendy to speak at Project
RISHI's symposium on April 13th. She very much appreciates the
opportunity to engage on such important issues. Unfortunately, Wendy is
not able to accept as she will be travling internationally at that time.
However, you did request having Wendy possibly speak on an alternative
date should the 13th not work with her schedule, and I would be happy to
explore those options with you further. Do you have a timeframe that you
are looking at over the coming months? Are there any other confirmed
events? Please note that Wendy's calendar is still being developed. I
look forward to hearing from you.
All the best,
Katie

Subject: Wendy Kopp Speaker Request
Hello,
My name is Amol Lingnurkar and I am contacting you on behalf of Project
Rishi, a developmental organization on the UC Berkeley campus. We are
organizing a symposium on April 13th from 7-9pm centered on social
entrepreneurship and are interested in having Teach for America co-founder
and CEO Wendy Kopp be our key-note speaker. What are the next steps that
we need to take? I have also attached a more formal invitation letter
below. We appreciate your time and help.
Thank You,
Amol

| The Tilden room seats 100 and has a stained glass window and outside terraces with spectacular views of the Bay Area. The Black Oak room has seating for 12 around conference tables. The Douglas Fir and Chinquapin rooms seat 16 in a conference or 20 in a lecture. The Madrone East and Madrone West rooms each seat for 45 and have a door between them. The Tan Oak room seats 100 in a lecture, 51 in a classroom, and 70 in a conference. The Stephens room seats 65 and has a piano, a decorative fireplace and high ceilings. How many people are we expecting/want? I'll contact for Tilden and Tan Oak lecture; is Stephens for 65 too small? |
