Dear MCPs,
after my presentation at the virtual legislation I want to send you this follow up with a survey enclosed.
The survey is about getting to understand which entities already want to participate in the International SOS membership for their EPs from January onwards and who can only join in later.
Please find attached two more detailed presentation of the International SOS services. One is about the general package solution they created for us and the other one explains what an EP will have to do to receive the service.
Please reply to the survey until next Thursday the 5th of December.
As a quick summary here the benefits for EPs, MCs and the preparations needed.
Benefits for EPs:
- Awareness building of travel risk
- Awareness building of health risk
- Preparation email and assistance
- Realtime updates about the risk related development in the country of destination
- 24/7 access to International SOS call center and help service
- In emergencies: assistance to arrange medical treatment immediately
- With one additional sign up for the membership which will be integrated in myaiesec.net all information to receive the service are collected
For MCs:
- Additional value and service offered to EPs
- Fulfilling our duty of care
- Professional partner to guarantee basic safety measurements for EPs
- Awareness about where our EPs are during there stay abroad
- Possible to immediately react in a crisis with potentially EPs involved
Preparations needed:
- Sign up for your preferred start date of the International SOS membership - by 5th of December
- Have internal solution on how to cover the costs for the fee per EP (through EP fee or differently) - by December
- Educating MC and LC VP ICX/OGX (both GIP and GCDP) on the International SOS membership - finished by Janaury with support from International SOS in your country
- Integrate the service in the EP preparation process (meaning they get educated about the service as one session of the Outgoing Preparation Seminar) - by end of Decmber with global support materials
- Ensure that every EP has a travel insurance to be able to cover medical expenses in case needed - from January onwards, will be mandatory after IPM
- Have person responsible in MC for EP safety - from December onwards - including the following responsibilities:
- Ensuring every matched EP signs up (you will pay per matched EP not per sign up, as the service is available for every matched EP and every matched EP should pay for it) - from Janaury onwards
- Managing the reports send from International SOS about EPs worldwide - from January onwards
- Ensuring education on the long run - from January onwards
- Up to 5 hours per week from this person to ensure implementation - from January onwards
Please fill out this survey to let us know from when on your entity wants to participate with all your EPs and let us as well know who in your MC would be the responsible contact person.
The survey represents a first commitment from your side. This will be followed up with a written agreement that will then be signed between the participating MCs and AI especially to clarify the payment process. This agreement will happen in December 2013.
