This isn't a question, but more of a suggestion:

On the outpost, people have compiled links to useful threads about the tasks. This is good, but what if we took the most useful advice within each thread and compiled it under each task's thread in this group?

By the time the FA comes, if we need ideas in this group, it will be annoying to read through so many threads on the outpost trying to find relevant help for the issue at hand. Some links for Task "X" have dozens of pages!

For this reason, I think it would be wise for us to parse the outpost while we're not on a 96-hour-time-crunch and gather everything useful into one place.

Will download on 3/2. Already registered and I'm just waiting at this point.

In other news, it seems like they're staying up-to-date with FA grading. A coworker of mine turned his in yesterday and received news of MMR today. I hope we get the same turnaround because:
I'm still waiting to hear back about the IA (I turned it in before Feb. 20th), and I'd hate to receive DNMMR for both the IA and the FA around March 23rd. I think I would give up the ghost if I had to do both in a week's time.

I think what Jared said above is a good idea. I'm in the middle of month end reporting at work, but plan to start reading as many previous posts as possible between today and Friday and taking notes of what looks useful.

Everyone, please start contributing in each of the task threads if you have/find useful links to discussions or comments in general.

I downloaded mine today and planning to submit on Sunday. I am hopeful that they keep up with these quick turn around times in the unfortunate event I get a second DNMMR.

I'll do my best to contribute. Those who have not yet taken the FA (this includes me) are at a *slight* disadvantage for looking for information, since we haven't seen the questions. I'm not absolving myself of responsibility; this is just a forewarning that what I think seems like good info to share might be good info but nevertheless unimportant to the task at hand.

It looks like grades are continuing to flow through (slowly) for the FA. They're focusing on IAs at the moment, so I can see 3 things happening:

1) They get through the stack of IA's, and rinse and repeat with FA submissions:
Results ETA: 2-5 days

2) They get through the stack of IA's and split their attention evenly, and push forward with moderate grading efforts:
Results ETA: 5-10 days

3) They get through the stack of IA's and push forward with modest grading efforts:
Results ETA: 10-20 days

4) They get through the stack of IA's and take a grading vacation. After all, they did not guarantee that anything submitted after 2/20 would be graded by 3/23...
Results ETA: 30+ days

I'm just putting thoughts out there, I don't expect a discussion to happen in the middle of all of us taking the FA.

I see many people talking about lengthy appendices. What are we including in these appendices? I assumed if we are adding graphs, anything in excel it would be incorporated in the relevant task?

I don't think I'm going to include an appendix. Not sure if there is any benefit to adding it

Are you guys treating the informal memos as just documents addressed to the project lead, or as e-mails?  I didn't include a "Hi Doug" greeting or anything, because I believe a memo is not the same as an e-mail, and if they wanted an e-mail they would state that, as they did in EOM7. I'm curious what others think.
Also, I wrote my informal memos in first person (e.g. I analyzed....) but the task 5 formal memo in passive voice (e.g. analysis was performed....). Did you use the same approach? Anyone know if this is correct?
