The British
Society for the History of Philosophy invites applications for its annual
conference bursaries. These enable individuals to present an abstract at the
annual conference, to be held between 8 and 10 April 2024 at the University of
Liverpool. Papers on any aspect of the history of philosophy are welcome.
Proposals on currently under-represented philosophical traditions, periods and

The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies is pleased to offer fellowships to support significant research and writing about the Holocaust and related topics for projects that will benefit from a period of residence at the Museum and access to its resources. We welcome proposals from all relevant academic disciplines including - but not limited to - anthropology, archaeology, art history, geography, film studies, Jewish studies, law, material culture, philosophy, political science, psychology, and comparative genocide studies. Awards are granted on a competitive basis and are at the sole discretion of the Mandel Center.

The
University of Erfurt is advertising Herzog Ernst and Hiob Ludolf research
grants for the Gotha collections in 2024, primarily in the Gotha Research
Library and the associated historic collection of the Justus Perthes Gotha
Publishing House. During their stay on site, the fellows will be affiliated to
the academic institutions of the University of Erfurt in Gotha. The focus of
the programme is on:
• The ducal court in Gotha as an example for European court culture
• History of science and cultures of knowledge as global history, history of
transfer, and entangled history, 16th to 20th century
• History of European literature, particularly 16th to early 19th century
• History of publishing and book trade
• Early Modern and 19th-century study of Classical religions, history of
Protestantism, and Islam
• Philosophy and history of the German and European Enlightenment
• Heterodoxy, dissidence, and subversion
• History of the humanities, e.g. numismatics, oriental studies, philology
• History of natural science, e.g. alchemy, astronomy, and botany
• The history of spatially oriented disciplines, 16th to 20th century, e.g.
ethnology, geology, geography, and statistics
• History of cartography and imperial history
• Cartography and “critical geopolitics”

Harvard University's Villa I Tatti Center for Italian Renaissance Studies invites applications for its fellowships in the digital humanities. These support the work of scholars in the humanities or social sciences, librarians, archivists, and data science professionals with a digital aspect. Projects can address any aspect of the Italian Renaissance including the period from the 14th to the 17th century, and geographically to include transnational dialogues between Italy and other cultures. Projects should apply digital technologies such as mapping, textual analysis, visualisation, or the semantic web to topics in fields such as art and architecture, history, literature, material culture, music, philosophy, religion, and history of science.
