To Potential Investors,
I am going to be honest with you: there is a good chance you will not
make your money back. We know how crowded the film market is, and no
matter how excellent the film may be, investing is still always a
gamble with more factors working against you than for you. What I CAN
tell you is that I personally financed my first film and despite not
yet breaking even, I would never have changed the experience. The fact
I have created a feature film that has been seen and praised by
strangers on the other side of the country is far more gratifying to me
than the thought that I could have more money today had I not invested.
If you have financed films before, then you know this feeling. Of
course the intended goal is to make a profit and we all work towards
that, but in the end, the thrill of creating a motion picture and
screening it to others makes all the trials of filmmaking worth it,
even if we are poorer for having made this choice.
This is a small production working off of an acclaimed script, and
no one in the crew has any delusion of getting rich off this. The cast
consists of several NYC stage actors. What we do have is an LOI from a
distributor, a budget fully broken down, a 29-day shooting schedule
planned to the tee, an original song already produced and mixed, and
demo footage with the actors shot and edited. All we need is $600,000.
The movie is a Little Miss Sunshine-esque coming of age comedy
about models, set on a fictional reality show. We recently did a table
reading and the script was very well played and well received. If
