Irecently had to switch to Mathcad Prime when my renewed license would not work on Mathcad 15. But in prime the converter button is greyed out. I have multiple files I still need to access so that I dont have to recreate them. Is there a solution for this. My current will not open 15 at all.

The appropriate check box is by default unchecked and you have to check it if you want the converter to be installed. If you forgot to do so you can run the installation file again and have the converter installed.

We've updated our easy-to-use file converter DocuFreezer to version 3.1! DocuFreezer can now convert MathCAD MCDX filetypes (.mcdx and .mctx added as new supported filetypes). You can also make use of newly added features to extract pages, optimize Word DOC and DOCX to PDF files conversion, set file compression method for TIFF images, choose a page range, and more. Overall performance and conversion got better. Let's take a closer look at DocuFreezer 3.1 improvements.

DocuFreezer supports new CAD filetypes. It is now able to easily convert Mathcad Prime worksheets MCDX and MCTX files to PDFs or images in batches. MathCAD drawings may contain texts, mathematical elements, diagrams, and graphs. Please note, that processing these files will require MathCAD Prime software.

Mathcad Prime (a newer version of MathCAD) is a CAD application for automated mathematical calculations. This system is mostly used for design, calculations, equation and has an ability to render graphs (which can be dynamic) and charts in two dimensions. MathCAD has many features for engineering calculations and creating documentation.

Can .mcdx files be read and viewed without MathCAD? Yes, they can! If your colleague or client doesn't have MathCAD software installed and doesn't know how to convert .mcdx to another format, you can send them these types of files previously saved to PDF or TIFF by DocuFreezer.

The new DocuFreezer allows selecting a specific page range. This means you can set the program to convert only certain pages of all documents within a session. This way, you can also extract pages from PDF! Just specify which pages you want to extract from multipage documents (PDF, Word, etc.) and select either Multipage: Split into single pages or Merge into one PDF option. It can be useful, e.g., when you want to get the output files like these:

The new MinSize option allows you to make the size of output PDF files smaller. With this feature enabled in the Ini file editor, the level of compression is about 30% (depending on the document's contents). This feature works for Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) documents.

If the input files were added from different folders, the resultant files would appear in them correspondingly. You can also add subfolders when using this macro and, for instance, set a path like this: *SrcFileFolder\Subfolder\Converted files.

If you often convert to TIFF, there's also a way to set file compression of output files. You can choose between different compression methods: Modified Huffman RLE/MH, Group3 Fax/T.4, Group4 Fax/T.6, LZW, Jpeg, and Flate.

There's also a new ability to place several document pages or images onto a single sheet if needed. This feature has many parameters, so if you need to customize it for your needs, please contact our support team.

In 2006, the Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) acquired MathSoft. The following year PTC released Mathcad 14.0, which offered several significant enhancements. Mathcad 15.0, released in 2010, also provided many improved and updated functions. After Mathcad 15.0, PTC decided to go in an entirely new direction with Mathcad Prime 1.0 (2011) and Mathcad Prime 2.0 (2012). Some of the new features include new Prime User Interface (UI) with snap-to-grid workspace, multiple document interface, new ribbon menus and status bars, new matrix navigation/view, plots and matrices support units, and new label styles.

Worksheets from earlier versions of Mathcad cannot be opened directly into Mathcad Prime 2.0. Instead PTC provides an XMCD, MCD Converter that can run in batch mode to convert many files at once or to convert an individual worksheet. If you want to convert worksheets from previous versions of Mathcad, you need to have a copy of PTC Mathcad 15. The converter requires Mathcad 15.0 to be installed so that you can convert any worksheets from past versions of Mathcad.

Mathcad provides a rich problem-solving environment that gives you a wide variety of analysis and visualization tools. Unlike other technical software, Mathcad does math the same way you do. That is because it looks and works like a scratchpad and pencil. Mathcad's on-screen interface is a blank worksheet on which you can enter equations, graph data or functions, and annotate with text - anywhere on the worksheet. Some of the important computational features of Mathcad for engineering applications are:

Mathematical expressions in Mathcad look the way you would see them in a textbook or a reference book. The only difference is that Mathcad's equations and graphs are live, which means Mathcad recalculates the math and redraws the graphs every time you change any data, variable, or equation in a worksheet. To learn the basic features of Mathcad Prime, you need to have at least a copy of Mathcad Prime Express, which is free and available from PTC website. Once you install the software, you need to study the Mathcad Prime's built-in tutorial. In particular, you need to learn how to
