It definitely won't be the same if you don't.
I'm a loyal reader of Adriana Trigiani's books and especially love her Big
Stone Gap trilogy. They were the first books of hers that I read, and
I was instantly hooked as an avid fan. Not long after reading the first
book, while on a trip to visit a little girl in Appalachia whom I sponsor
through Save the Children, I visited some of the places in neighboring locations
mentioned in the book. Since my visit to my sponsored child (now
six years old) has become an annual event, I was able to "live" parts of the
book last summer as well. This summer I'm planning to actually stay in Big
Stone Gap itself and see The Trail of the Lonesome Pine outdoor drama--I can't
wait!! The movie would be an excellent means of bringing this warm,
wonderful and interesting area to the attention of many people who may not ever
pick up the books. It would be a great opportunity to spur interest in
this lovely little mountain town and create new jobs and opportunities for its
people. Adriana herself is a wonderfully talented individual and a joy to
hear speak. Entertainment just simply bubbles out of her; and I can only
imagine the type of movie she will direct. It will be nothing short of
spectacular. Please don't ruin it by filming it anywhere but in Big Stone
Gap itself. After all, it's the perfect setting! I will look forward
to buying some of the very first tickets to see Big Stone Gap, filmed in Big
Stone Gap, VA. Please make my dream come true.
Most sincerely,
A loyal Adriana fan and Virginia
