I just finished Adriana Trigiani's book, Big Stone
Gap, and absolutely loved it!! My mother was born and raised in West
Virginia in a little nook in the mountains called Five Mile Holler (the name is
puzzling because the holler can't be more than a half mile long!). Reading
this book took me back to my grandma's house and the characters I knew
growing up, similar to the people I loved in the story of Big Stone Gap. I
would love nothing more than to see this movie filmed in the quaint little town
that I grew to love in the short time it took me to read this book. I want
to see the actual town, some of the actual people and I know that anyone who has
read this book has the same desires. It just makes no sense to film it
anywhere else. Please let this happen...it would mean so much to the
readers and even more to the lovely people of that town. Well, I am off
now to start Big Cherry Holler and only hope that it as just as good as the
first story!
Sincerely,
April Hester
