I've been reading the Big Stone Gap books since the
first one was published. Each books makes me want to see the town and
countryside as it really exists.
The small town of Big Stone Gap is like many small
coal towns that struggle to keep the history and environment intact for future
generations. Filming there will be an infusion of money for the town and
state of Virginia. It will make people aware of the existence and charm of
the small town that will bring tourists to visit. The books and now the
movie is an opportunity to learn that small town does not mean small
minds.
There are so many people like myself who did not
live in a small town like Big Stone Gap but whose parents did live there and
took their children to visit, sometimes for weeks at a time. I am in my
60's and the people Adrianna Trigianni have created make me remember people I
grew up with and want to aspire to be more like even at this late
date.
Make the movie as authentic as possible and help
generate the monies to film in Big Stone Gap,
Virginia.
