to may fellow public librarians i want to share my sentiments,

i graduated 1998 at UST,,,, BSE Library science.. fresh from school at that armed with skills and idealism.. i worked at a seminary library,,, school library HS and elem.. till i decided to enter government service... 1 week at that,, i want to leave,,,// after six months,,, I am challenge,,, made so much change for the city library... many appreciated,,, but not all are pleased.... working in a very tight budget,,,,,,,,,,,,huh,,,,,work has been good though struggling,... never ending ideas to give a better service...it was real work. work work.after 5 years and 3 months..
FINALLY I want to leave.. govt service...i wish i could dance with the tune... but no matter how i want to internalized, my heart and mind wouldnt give in.
To may fellow lpublic librarians.. lucky for those who are in good standing...and fo those who just  chose to be content to what is available.with this angst in my mind
i want to ask for help. if you know any job vacancies.. coz i want to leave my current work asap...
dont ask me the reason why i want to leave,,, ..or better yet ask anyone u know whos in govt service. bcoz of this i blame y we ddint allow americans to colonize as...sould have been a better Philippines....

When you fill up an application for a job, I hope you will be careful with your grammar and spelling. Librarians pay good attention to details and you should do the same.

i understand what you're saying about government service. i worked for
a government institution for a few months--not as a librarian--and
vowed never to work for the government ever again.

i'm not sure, though, if i understood your reference to allowing the
americans to colonize the philippines. while i am neither pro- nor
anti-american, i think it is better to just accept what already is and
try to work with what we have, rather than wish for something that may
or may not yield the result we want. and i'm not just talking about
the americans colonizing the philippines.

I am puzzled too by the statement of Bernadine Maminta:

: "dont ask me the reason why i want to leave,,, ..or better yet ask anyone u know whos in govt service. bcoz of this i blame y we ddint allow americans to colonize as...sould have been a better Philippines....dont ask me the reason why i want to leave,,, ..or better yet ask anyone u

know whos in govt service. bcoz of this i blame y we ddint allow americans
to colonize as...sould have been a better Philippines...."

I am not going to try to decipher the cryptic mixture of misspellings, bad grammar, abbreviations, lack of punctuations, Cybertext lingo (is that the term for bcoz, sould, y, i, u,ddint)?

Good advice, Von, where to look for job openings.

mam,

i shared with your sentiments and the experience in the government service. am also a public librarian and trying hard to meet the demands of the general public.

however, i cant blame you if your leaving because we have different situations, but i am afraid and sad that i am losing someone whose effort to make public libraries a service-oriented and competitive.

i hope i could meet you.

We tend to think we know much. Its good theres a way to correct each others error...
To jenn.... ur msg am i welcome..
filipinolibrarians group is a big help for us librarians.
Guess since we came from different generation, Be careful with the use of abbreviations esp those we use for text and internet chat cause those who are not well verse at that tend to be sensitive,,i hope they raise errors in a subltle way.

btw, i should probably make it clear that i wasn't referring to UP.
after my stint at the government institution, i did teach in UP for a
while, but i reasoned that it was not quite the same as working for
the government. i did hear some stories about politics in UP, but
thankfully, the institute (now school) of library and information
science (now studies) was not affected by the internal politics.
