We just received an advance copy of "Honor in the Dust: Theodore Roosevelt, War in the Philippines, and the Rise and Fall of America's Imperial Dream". Author Gregg Jones will speak and sign his book during our Bookshop's 2012 Authors Night on Friday, April 20 which is the eve of the LA Times Festival of Books.

"America's brutal war of conquest in the Philippines is amazingly little-known, largely ignored in our schoolbooks and history museums. Yet, its imperial hubris and
its torture scandal eerily foreshadow events in the last decade. In his much needed, highly readable book on this forgotten war, Gregg Jones has written both a
compelling page-turner and a work of careful scholarship." - Adam Hochschild, author of 'King Leopold's Ghost' and 'To End All Wars.'

Gregg Jones who is married to a Filipina, is also the author of the 1989 book, "Red Revolution: Inside the Philippine Guerrilla Movement". Please visit http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7917083-honor-in-the-dust. The New York Book Review is scheduled to run a review on February 19.
