Hello Brian and all,
where do I get the current fc-remote for Linux from?
I tried the download site, but the files there are old. The build 1812 is not there.

Regards
KT

The only possible answer from "anyone" except Brian probably is "nowhere" - there are no packages available in the Debian/Ubuntu, etc, repository, and the builds on the download page are indeed outdated (asking for registration among other limitations - personally, I have two of them, but I suggested FC together with fc-remote to someone else and don't feel like sharing my registration key with my name used by others, because the fact that registrations are not required any longer is not clear to other people...

They were in https://silk.apana.org.au/pub/fcl/nightly/
but I've now moved them over to where the other fc-remote builds are in
https://silk.apana.org.au/pub/fc-remote/

Thanks, but is there a static build, that won't whine about missing libs?

Or, to put it differently, is there a compilation which will work with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP2? It comes with: ldd (GNU libc) 2.26. fc-remote asks for 2.28.

Please forgive me sending this email in parts ;)

fc-remote: /lib64/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by fc-remote)
fc-remote: /lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.28' not found (required by fc-remote)

Try
https://silk.apana.org.au/pub/fc-remote/filecommander-remote_2.50-vgit_1820_opensuse152.x86_64.zip
As the name implies it's built using OpenSUSE 15.2 which should match
your SLES 15 SP2.
Fortunately I recently switched to using Docker to make all my unix
packages which makes building something like this so much easier than
the collection of VMs I was using.

Hi Brian,
this unfortunately doesn't work either — "fc-remote: error while loading shared libraries: libzstd.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
So the only one that works for me is the build dated 4th March 2021 :(

Do you have the package libzstd1 installed? If not, try installing it.

The problem is that I don't have privilege to install it. Of course I will ask the admin, but in the long run having a statically linked executable would be easier to use (I access various different servers).
I believe that the fc-remote executable which works for me is a statically linked one..

Additionally some of the servers I work on are on "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP2" which doesn't have libzstd :(

Alternatively, would it be possible to require this library dynamically, so that if the lib is not there, certain features of FC/L will be off?
