In the dodgy neighbourhood of Morningside and Lawrence, five Catholic
teenagers battle between the voice of God and the voice of their own
bodies.
Kilt pins are often used as a symbol of a girl’s virginity amongst
Catholic youth. Pointing up means you’re a virgin. Pointing down means
you’ve popped your cherry. This play speaks of the journey between the
two.
This one night performance of Catherine Hernandez’s new play, Kilt
Pins, will be a special fundraising event for the Kapisanan Philippine
Centre for Arts and Culture.
