I just needed to send a short video about problems accessing an account. I didn't have any tools installed for the job. I googled, found your site, and the problem was solved easily and quickly. The right tool at the right time with great results. Couldn't be more satisfied. Thank you!

This site was really easy to use and navigate. I had my video downloaded instantly and was able to teach my staff how to troubleshoot with a math program. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to use something fast and efficient! Saved me a lot of time!

I screen-record content for my lectures and also for the non-profit that I run. It's really nice that this software works through the web browser. At the institution that I work at it is near impossible to get IT to add software that we need. So it is great that this simply uses your web browser!

The best go-to online screen recorder! Screencapture.com is doing a great job. The online screen recorder is a convenient tool that I have come across while recording workshops, meetings, and live classes. It records flawlessly. Great job team!

I'm the least techie person in the world, so I was astonished how easy using Screen Capture was. It's the very first time I've tried using anything like this, and it went so smoothly. I didn't have to download anything, and that's always a plus.

Before you start recording, click on the Webcam icon. Then click twice on the window preview to place the overlay with your face anywhere on the screen. Go to the special Free Webcam Recorder page for more details.

Yes, we do! Our Desktop Screen Recorder has many more tools, like video editor, audio denoiser, and recording scheduler. Get the full version to enjoy no-watermark recordings.

The title says it all. I customized different keyboard shortcuts. But every single shortcut config still keeps bringing up windows snipping tool. This is Windows 11. Is this a known bug? Are there any workarounds?

This is true. It arose because Microsoft changed things when it released Windows 11. So the problem is with Microsoft rather than Evernote. I'm sure that there could be some work done by Evernote to resolve the issue but since the workaround is trivial I anticipate that it will be sometime in arriving.

Meanwhile, I recommend Win+Shift+S which will open the Windows snipping tool with the cross hairs (just like the Evernote process used to have). Highlight the screen area you wish to snip. Then open the note where you want this to be captured (if it is a new note tap Ctrl+N) and tap Ctrl+V to paste the clip into the note.

To make things a bit less hassle I reset the New Note shortcut to Ctrl+Alt+N. Ctrl+N often launches a new window for whichever application has focus so doesn't always open a new note in Evernote unless Evernote has focus. Ctrl+Alt+N usually work regardless...

Ive withheld upgrading to the latest Evernote for years because of how I used evernote in my workflow, I upgraded earlier today and now my Evernote screenshots wont work on Win11 and it has becomes a sort of muscle memory for me to take screenshots using Evernote for around decade. Now it doesn't work =/

Use the Windows snipper (Win+Shift+S), capture the screen area and paste into a new note. If you wish, make the Windows screen capture directory an Evernpte Import Folder and then Win+Shift+S will work exactly as the Evernote screen capture previously did.

I would hardly call the original workaround "trivial." It is three keystrokes instead of one. But this last tip is brilliant and works well enough: add the Windows screen capture directory (C:\Users[User Name]\Pictures\Screenshots) as an Evernote Import Folder. Thank you agsteele!

Yeah, I have that on. That only lets you see the cursor as it moves, but it does not really indicate the mouse clicks - some programs will flash a little round yellow highlight onscreen around the cursor each time the mouse is clicked.

By the way, I found this cool little app that resizes a (program) window to a given size:

You just run the tool and set Rhino as active app and then hit [Ctrl-Windows-Z] and the menu to the right pops up wherever your cursor is. (You can edit the Sizer Menu items)

Is there a similar command to set the Rhino window position? I span Rhino over two of my three monitors. When I open it, the window height is never quite the full screen height - I have to double click the top or bottom edge of the window to get it to fit to the screen - and I also have to drag the window to the right a few pixels to get it to line up with the screen RH edge.

If you have Rhino spanning two monitors you might be able to save the empty file with the adjusted views to a template. Or you could use NewFloatingViewport and then put the extra view on the second monitor and double click the top bar to maximize it on that monitor.

Oh, and one more thing, I use a near field studio mic that is great for elimintating all background sound. (I can even play some ambient background music on the pc with out that being picked up.)

((But being only a few centimeters from the mic it is important to not have it right in front of the mouth so breathing is picked up, and I use a sponge-cap-thing on it to prevent that too))

So I am running into a small problem. I want to use the capture tool to capture a material. But when I do select the material to be captured (i.e. an image of a tile) instead of selecting the image it selects my background image on my computer.

Let me know if you need any clarification. I will attach an image of the tile I want to screen material capture and whats happening. The blue that is showing on the teapot is actually my background image on my mac instead of the chevron that I selected. Why won't chief select the material image and NOT my background image?

@rlackore Yeah I can save it as an image. But I want to be able to just screen capture from chief. We do alot of rendering of materials so being able to material capture from chief would be such a game changer!

True, and it should likely be looked into but as you can see by the material I posted for you it is difficult to get a completely seamless material using that tool so you are better off using a different tool to capture and a photo editing software.

Consider downloading Substance Player and using the free tile builder to create your tile. Currently, there isn't an option for glass tile, but you can get reasonably close using the metal material, and maybe they would add glass if you request it in the thread.

Hi Ronniesha,

This behavior presents itself when Chief Architect doesn't have proper permission to record/capture the screen. This can be resolved by following the steps below:

I am new to Canvas Studio and I am trying to use it for a video presentation for class. I can record but the tool bar only shows up on my home screen. How can I get it to show up while I am in another app? I have a Macbook Air on MacOS Big Sur 11.5.2

I know that with MAC you will sometimes need to adjust the Security and Privacy settings in your Mac's System Preferences to allow screen recording. This usually fixes the issue with it only recording your Mac's default home screen. You should be able to drag the screen capture tool to the screen you are wanting to actually record.
