Problem with FigTree

Hello all,

I use Figtree to view/edit phylogenetic trees. However recently I've been facing a problem with opening files in the software. Whenever I open a tree it appears as you can see in the figure attached. I have tried reinstalling the program several times, even tried it with different files but each time the same thing happens.  Does anyone have a clue what could be the problem or how can I solve it?

I have another question. How can I export a figtree file in adobe illustrator format?

Dear Ellen,

I have never seen this issue before. Perhaps it is the font? Try selecting a different font in the Tip Labels tab.

For Illustrator, use the PDF file format.
