Does anyone have any suggestions for using a hex map rather than a grid?

While I appreciate the effort to keep this poor group alive, I don't know that there's anyone here anymore! :D
Things have moved pretty fully over to the Discord server.

However, you posted here so you deserve an answer.  I don't think you'd need many changes at all.  You'd still use the rules for lateral movement if you were on the "straight" axis and you'd still count Ranges by counting hexes.  It should be fine.  Give it a try.

depending on how big a hex map, it may give ki/chi users an advantage (sit back and spam fireball all the time), but Arenas gives some ideas on bringing it to life :)

I'm sorry to disturb the dead. :) But I don't find Discord very useful for much more than small casual talking otherwise it feels like a roomful of people more or less talking at once. :-/

But I think I am operating on a misunderstanding anyway. I had gotten the impression that Fight 2nd edition presented some rules for running Fight! more like a traditional combat system using a map (and perhaps minature/markers if desired) but it was meant from grid style maps and most of the map I have are Hex based (I'm a Hero/Champions and GURPS player).
