It is, without opening this can of worms further, the usual suspects of the internet's midden heap venting their anger at the fact that the female characters of the game now have base outfits that look like practical wear for someone who punches people in the face as the sum totality of their existence, rather than eye candy.

For your own health and faith in humanity, I'd suggest staying away from YouTube accounts like that one.

So...any other thoughts (Has brief flashbacks to the rpg.net Quality

For my part, I have never been bothered by a certain level of implausible fanservice in fighting games and, as someone who never dives into DLC, I don't think I ever see the extremes of it.

That being said, however, if a company wants to restrict such content - even if it appears to some to be motivated by culture wars - I'm never going to complain about covering characters up either.

A bigger problem is that the developers were forced to work 100+ hour workweeks to get it done on time. The clothes thing is a pretty minor distraction from some legitimate issues.

The participants do seem to be taking it too extremes, like an
existential war rather than a disagreement over aesthetics. I like sexy
costume, its not like all guys are wearing practical battle gear and its
a fantastic game with monsters, magic and superninjas. Obsessing over
some nominal notion of realism seems counter intuitive. Vote with money,
don't like it buy it. Heck I'm fairly sure there will be some
'interesting' DLC at some point.

I admit that this does strike me wryly ironic given the tempest in a
teacup some of the Qualities in 1st created on RPG.net.

Dunno about "interest". Right now, it appears that only the male characters have classic costume options.
