Hey Russell, Brad, Gerard and others,

I was just about to start a group called
'a-call-to-arms-for-the-open-web'. You've beaten me to it -- with a
snappier name too =)

Unfortunately, I'm not part of the West Coast collectives, but am from
dear old England.

My posts will hopefully be more informative in the future. This is
just a simple hello to say -- count me in! -- the Open Web is
something I have been passionate about for years.

One key factor I would say is to also take into account the social and
economic influences -- these are important in gauging the potential
success of any open web technologies.

Don't worry - I'm not from the west coast either - I'm from the east
coast, but I suppose that is still a whole ocean away! Anyway, thanks
for joining the group. When you get a chance, it might help to answer
any of the discussion questions that interest you to help get the ball
rolling. Feel free to start new ones too, of course!
