Do you try to use the browser extension, or the mobile app of Dropbox Passwords? As for the approval, it might sound trivial but have you tried closing Chrome, and the device itself, and then open them again?
Same as above - when I try to use dropbox passwords on my laptop - it asks me to login and then opens this page: chrome-extension://bmhejbnmpamgfnomla...
Which says:
Check "chrome windows" for a notification
But I never get a notification, ever. I have tried this for months and nothing. Does anyone know where this supposed notification would go, where can I find it, access it? Is there a way to make this work or is this just a buggy system that doesnt work with Chrome?
Go to windows 10 settings, on the search bar type : turn app notifications on or off, disable all of them. Go to google chrome settings and in the search bar type: notifications, disable them or just clear all data.
This ones stays on desktop for a minute and is in notification centre.
Microsoft says gmail in chrome must do something different here as the notifications for google chat in chrome is working fine. Which is proving is working well on Windows side.
Okay, follow up question. I found that the notifications are trying to push to my windows notifications if enabled. If disabled they are displaying in my browser. I do not want them displayed in my browser so I am trying to enable them. How can I add sites to the notifications Allow list in chrome?
I resolved this with help from some of my coworkers.
We added a local variable for notifications. Then from within Katalon we are executing javascript to set the local variable not allowing the notifications.

Chrome Push notifications behavior and look will change with this update. Now users will see the notifications staying in the windows action center, and the major impact will be on engagement and the click-through rates which must increase as the notification lives in the action center until clicked.
Also, if you are using Notification Large Image and Require Interaction while Pushing Notifications for your subscribers, you need to be aware of the update. Below are the changes listed with Chrome 68 for windows 10.
Chrome has supported native notifications in macOS which was launched in June 2017. This was chrome version 59 and above. Users want a similar experience on their devices so with this version chrome gives users Native Notifications for Windows 10 which will live in their action center after disappearing from the screen.
The Web Push Notification earlier was appearing with a white background as chrome, after the update it uses the UI of Windows 10 to give all the notifications similar look and experience. It will be shown in the grey background with text displayed with white color and a small image coming on the side.
The image size of the large image notification and appearance changes.
Instead of coming at the bottom after the title and message. The Large Image will come at the top of notification, which will draw the attention of the users and likely they will CTR will increase.
Chrome notifications usually appear during your browsing experience. It alerts you whenever a site or app is sending you a notification. If users accept the notifications from a website, they start getting notifications.
Google Chrome is a popular browser. Thus, many people experience these notification popups and find them annoying. Therefore, we must come up with a solution as to how to stop chrome notifications on any device.
Enabling push notifications is a simple and intuitive process. This happens when a user visits a website that has a push notification service. A notification appears on the top left corner of the address bar.
We are providing some easy steps to get rid of the unwanted chrome notifications. Chrome has applications for Windows, Android, and iOS. All the applications have different settings. Here we will be giving you the exact steps for each of the operating systems.
After upgrading to Chrome 108 users who run Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 started to see Windows 10 upgrade prompt right in the browser. It appears below the address bar, and on the "About Google Chrome" page.
The notification appears because Chrome will soon drop support for both Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. Microsoft will discontinue both OS versions in January 2023. Google will stop releasing updates for these OSes at the same time.
So in a couple of months Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users won't be able to install new versions of any of the Chromium-based browsers, unless developers will do extra efforts to support the outdated software. So Google recommends upgrading the operating system to Windows 10.
Obviously that some users will stay on their current OS, whether it is Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. Windows 10 has higher system requirements, and it works much slower than its predecessors on an aged hardware. We have discussed the real hardware requirements of Windows 10 in one of the previous posts.
Whose who do not plan to switch to Windows 10 or 11 may get quickly annoyed by popups in the Chrome. So Google offers a Registry option (group policy) to get rid of them. To hide upgrade prompts, do the following.
Extract the downloaded files to any folder of your choice, and open the disable OS upgrade prompt in chrome.reg file. Confirm the UAC prompt and click Yes in the Registry Editor prompt. This will instantly disable the upgrade prompts in the browser.
Unlike the Chrome browser, Mozilla is about to give its fans more time to enjoy Firefox on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. The company considers to keep it available until August 2023 via the ESR channel. Mozilla is yet to announce exact dates.
