Exporting from maya problem

Hi,

I managed to compile field3d on windows to try the Field3d plugin for maya. If I try to export a cache I get an error, same happens if I try to export via the exportF3d command. The written files seems to contain the hdf5 header only.

This is what I get:

Hi,

When you say you tried to export the cache, do you mean you pointed the exportF3d command to the cache node?

I run something like this on Linux from script editor:

exportF3d -st 1 -et 20 -o "/mcp/" fluidShape1

Yes, exactly that's what I tried.
I could see in another thread that someone had similiar problems using the static linked HDF5 library, what is exactly what I did. I'll see if I can link field3D with a dynamic lib and try again.

I used a newer HDF5 dynamic library and now it works. I can export fluids from maya.
