[field on ubuntu] newbie question on building and compiling

sorry for my real newbie question

i'm on: 

acer notebook aspire 3010t without gpu (i think)

ubuntu 10.10

java 1.6

i've just downloaded field with hg

Alberto,

I believe you've skipped the part of the instructions where you have to actually build Field in Eclipse — our ant scripts right now just package things up as an executable (of course this only makes even partial sense on OS X where there's a strong sense of a packaged executable).

Any trouble with the build itself I suggest you roll your repository back to revision 40, which is the version that corresponds to Field 12.

(I'm also a little worried about your graphics hardware or lack thereof...)

ok you're right,

i've build with eclipse.

extras - as expected - had some errors.

then i closed eclipse and i ran ant -f buildRelease.xml distribute , no problem.

then ./field_linux.sh -field.scratch helloWorld.field but mayebe something is wrong because i get lot of error.

i add a log file of both outputs because error is a bit long to copy directly in this email

This is a build problem with the current repository on Linux, it will get fixed tonight / tomorrow. In the meantime, this applies:

Problems with the head of the repository on Linux have now been resolved. Build away!

the shell is full of print-trace and some errors inside but it seems to work!

now i'll look for some tutorial. hear you in next days : )
