Mydisplay driver "Intel HD Graphics 5500" has basically stopped working. My computer is a Lenovo T450s. When it is enabled, it makes the screen go crazy (hard to describe), and it is usable but just barely. I can disable the driver and the issue stops. So far, the only problem I've noticed with the driver disabled is that I cannot adjust the brightness, but there are probably more issues that I don't know about yet.

My computer is completely up to date, with both Windows and Lenovo updates. I have deleted and reinstalled the driver multiple times (including old versions) but every time the same issue reappears. I have no idea what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I can give more information about my system/drivers if needed.

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, I tried installing from the zip file and the same issue occurred. I have also tired rolling back the driver and using a previous version, and I have even wiped the computer and done a fresh install of Windows. At this point, I believe it is a hardware problem. I have attached a link to a quick video showing what happens when the driver is enabled. Thanks for the help and let me know if you have any ideas.

Unfortunately, it appears my graphics card dying was a warning sign of my motherboard going bad. My motherboard is now dead and the computer will not start. I'm in the process of getting a new laptop. Thank you for your help

Unfortunately my T450S is doing the *exact* same thing shown in his youtube video, and I've gone through the exact steps you've mentioned in trying to fix the problem. It's surprising to me that it's a "general" motherboard issue, since it's particular to the operation of the HD 5500 graphics and nothing else.

Thanks for the video; mine is doing EXACTLY the same thing. It was hard to come up with a useful way to describe it for google searches. It's been a FANTASTIC computer up to now. Warranty expired a few months ago, of course (bought a 3 year warranty with it, which was never once used).

I have a very similar issue with my Lenovo Thinkpad T450. Reverting back to the Microsoft driver fixes the issue but as soon as I update with the Intel drivers screen flickering starts again. This started to show a little bit a few days ago but has gotten worse to a point where the laptop is unusable.

Unfortunately, the motherboard of the Lenovo t450s completely died a few weeks after the graphics card went on the fritz, rendering the computer useless. While I cannot say 100% that the issues were connected, it seems logical.

Accordingly, Intel disclaims all express and implied warranties, including without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, as well as any warranty arising from course of performance, course of dealing, or usage in trade.

So, my notebook (HP 15-ac120nd) won't let me play some games anymore because I need a "video cart accelerator." On some other forums I read that I needed to update the driver for my graphics card (Intel (R) HD Graphics 5500). So I followed all the steps, downloaded the latest version from the Intel website, but when I wanted to install it my HP said it didn't recognize the file and didn't allow it to install and redirected me to the HP drivers. But when I tried to download and install the drivers that HP claimed were for my notebook specific I couldn't install them either because they don't fit my video card.

To unzip the file, right click on the graphics driver zip file you downloaded, and select Extract All.

Go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category

Click on the Intel HD graphics adapter listed there.

Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on Have Disk, and browse to the unzipped graphics driver folder>Graphics>igdlh64 (setup information file), click Next, and the driver should install.

Be patient, as it can take a few minutes for the driver to completely install.

When the installation is finished, restart the PC.

Im having compatibility issues with my Intel HD graphics 5500. I'm trying to install the driver from but it said I does not meet the minimum system requirements. I event downgraded to Premier Pro 2019. It still not working? Is there anyway around this? Or should I downgrade to a earlier version of Premier Pro?

Unfortunately, the HD Graphics 5500 is now effectively obsolete. You see, Intel itself had placed the driver support for the IGPs of all of its 4th- and 5th-Generation Intel Core CPUs into "legacy" status way back in 2017-2018. That means that since that time, there were, and will never be, any more compatibility fixes for these IGPs while at the moment only critical security fixes will continue to be made. As a result, every single driver version that's compatible with your HD 5500 is simply a security patch to a driver version that dates way back to 2016. And what's more, Adobe now officially requires a 6th-Generation or newer CPU in order to run Premiere Pro properly. Thus, if a hardware manufacturer has ended all mainstream support for a given hardware component, Adobe was now faced with the dilemma between continuing to support old and outdated or obsolete hardware or add new and up-to-date features to its software. Adobe wisely opted to follow the newer hardware path in order to avoid risking falling farther and farther behind the competition in features and performance.

And there is officially no way at all whatsoever to retrograde to an older version of Premiere Pro: Adobe has now restricted availability to the two most recent major versions of all of its CC apps. That policy went into effect in May of last year.

Integrated GPU's typically can't cut it against a free-standing card. These HD graphics APUs aren't designed for games, just high resolution video and web-browsing. Graphics in SL usually requires far better cooling capacity and throughput, that can't be provided by discrete chips.

Actually SL will run nicely on this low end Graphics Solution. I tend to work at various client businesses on mostly business class PCs with Intel HD 4400 & 5500 graphics. So I pop into SL frequently on these PCs to manage my islands and tenant issues. I can run on the High setting with a Very nice 20+ fps. Attached is a picture of mu SL session on a PC with an Intel HD 4400. Mind you I can't do any hardware skinning on this but SL is workable for me on these PCs until i get home to my SL monster PC.

My question has two parts. First, I am having a hard time understanding how much video memory Intel's integrated graphics like Intel HD Graphics 5500 support. Specs for Core i3-5005U shows 16 GB for Graphics Video Max Memory. Does this mean that this Intel HD 5500 can use up to 16 GB of memory?

If so, then another question that strikes me is 16 GB is pretty huge memory. However, NoteBook Check says that this video card can run many popular 2014/2015 games will run fluently only at very low settings. What determines how powerful a video card is?

Selecting a graphics card because it has more memory is like choosing an exotic car based on the size of the gas tank. The unwarranted fixation on the amount of RAM is the biggest, most common mistake made by gamers looking to buy graphics hardware.

Whenever I fire my main gun or machine gun, suddenly the game freezes for some time, then the message "Video driver was hung and was restarted. Texture quality remains low" and if I fire any of those two again, then my game crashes, and I have no clue what's causing this issue.

I use an Intel HD Graphics 5500 integrated GPU and my CPU is an Intel i5-5200U and never experienced this kind of problems until now. I tried downloading and installing new drivers for my GPU and still no luck.

Here are the current pictures and logs. Unfortunately, I couldn't picture a test drive screenshot since it the screenshot went to black. But I did take a picture in the hangar with this setting: "Video Driver Hung video settings reduced to low."

Gaijin, I want you to notice this because this has been a pain to me for over a week. I hope sooner or later, this issue will be gone. I know many players also experience this and have seen their blogs. So please Gaijin, please do your best to fix this error.

There are three places where is asks for specific information to be provided to the Developers so the Technical Moderation team and Developers can investigate your issue.

If you fail to add this clearly asked for information, then this only adds to the 'administration time' for reports. We can either ask people for information that has already been asked for

three times(if folks just read) OR we can spend that time actually investigating your issue. Which do you think is the more efficient and effective methodology? I know what my answer is.
