I have a similar problem - i want to use the dialup on my NT box for my
other computer
(hooked up in a LAN to the NT box) can use that dial up to access the
internet.
I have Windows Proxy 2.0 but i know next to nothing about configging a proxy
server.
I figured if i went in using all the defaluts, i'd stand a good chance of it
working - I was wrong
and dont know how to set it up. anyone out there running Win Proxy 2.0,
your help would be
totally appreciated.
I'm using MS Proxy Server 2 and everything is working fine. You need
to go to the management Console and expand the Internet Information
Server branch. Right click on Web Proxy and pick Properties. Use the
Autodialer button to select which Phonebook entry and modem you want
to use and set the options. Then do the same for WinSock Proxy. After
this is set go to each client machine and install the client software
by using the Start/Run button to run
\\ProxyServername\mpsclnt\setup.exe. That should do it.
The documentation for MS Proxy Server 2 is awful and the operation is
not at all intuitive.
