Sorry to follow a question with a question... How do you know you are
recieving at 28K? My screen shows am icon which will suggest a speed of
44500bps, but I doubt it. Try hitting www.ipl (Internet Public Library).
It takes my system 2.5 minutes to load the site screen over phone lines.
Could this be 44500?

I upgraded my 33.6 Winmodem to 56K using 3Com's upgrade wizard.
Followed all the instructions and it loaded the drivers as expected, but the
modem is still running at 28.8. Can't even get 33.6 out of it! Device
Manager is showing the drivers a 56k driver. Are there other settings I
need to change?
