FYI, with that kind of throughout (presumably you mean Kcps, not Kbps) it
is likely that your modem is immediately falling back from a CONNECT at
53.3 to a lower speed of 41.3-46.6. (At 53.3 your throughput with
compressed data should be about 5.9 Kcps).
