USR Treats Customers Like Crap

What follows is a letter that I have been sending to US Robotics for
some time requesting the $20.00 rebate that they promised me. To
date, I have received no response.

I wish I had known what poor customer service that they provide. If
you are ever in the market for a modem, look elsewhere. There are
many other manufacturers of modems out there that give much better
service than USR. If you buy one of their modems, you are on your
own!

This was sent to USR:

You guys really take the cake. This is my sixth email to you, and that
is on top of two faxes. When I send you email or faxes, all I get
back is an automated response that consists of a listing of all
technical documents available. This is such crap. Never before have
I encountered such a callous and unresponsive vendor. I purchased my
Sportster Voice modem (model 1171) on December 20, 1996. I completed
the rebate documentation as required, and mailed it out the same day.
I still await your response.

There are many other modem manufacturers out there, and I will not
hesitate to avoid you and your companies products at all costs. I
also am responsible for directing the purchase of computer equipment
for a relatively large division of a major fortune 500 company, and I
will guarantee you that your continued practice of ignoring my
complaints will make it very easy to purchase from one of your
competitors.

I ask that you now provide me with the $20.00 rebate as advertised
immediately.
