THE NAZI METHODS OF ROLF KASPAREK (Running Wild)
I had planned a report of the Running Wild concert (20.4.98) for these pages,
but the arrogant, impossible and hysterical behaviour of Rolf Kasparek made
it impossible.
Firstly some background information:
Between 1988 and 1993 I ran the band's fanclub. In April 1992 Rolf called me
and said that he had been visited by UFOs and little blue men from another
planet. In May 92 he fired the bass player Jens Becker and the drummer AC on
the orders of the little blue men because they had told him (I quote Rolf:)
"they are not our kind"
By summer 1992, during the recording of "Piles Of Skulls", Rolf was saying
that the "Blues" visited him in the night, they stole half empty bottles of
whisky and threw apples at us from trees as a joke, One night, at 2 o'clock,
Rolf demanded that 2 Kelley Wild musicians, T. Korge and myself go and look
for an "UFO mother-ship" which he had seen land in the nearby village. A wild
drive through the streets of Machtsum proved the "mothership" to be no more
than distant street lights. Rold saw UFOs everywhere . on the distant freeway
(a heavy transport convoy) on the nearby fields (a farmer ploughing his field
late at night) in the sky (helicopters and aircraft from Hannover Airport and
local USAF bases) etc.
Rolf told us that the "blues" had given him a belt with which he could make
himself invisible.. he could read our minds...they had told him that he too
came from another planet... he was the reincarnation of Jesus and for that
reason he was so beloved by the fans. Believe me, these are just a few of the
spoutings that the band, studio staff and I were having to deal with.
His behaviour towards the other musicians became atrocious and Rolf hardly
spoke to any of us in a normal manner. In January 1993, at my RW concert in
Zurich /Switzerland, he practically ignored me altogether. It was becoming
increasingly difficult to carry on the fanclub. In February 1993, plagued by
stress and worry about the future of the band, lack of sleep and the strain
of keeping all this to ourselves, I collapsed. Three days later Rolf fired
the entire band by sending Axel a registered letter, in which Rolf asked him
to do his dirty work for him by firing the others and to consider himself
fired too. I have seen this letter.
After all the sackings in the past, (and all of them between 1988 and 1993
were fired!) Rolf had ordered me to write in the fanclub mag that they had
left of their own accord. This time, I refused to lie for him any longer and
for all these reasons I decided to close down the fanclub. Within days of my
informing Rolf, he sent a paranoic letter to all the fan addresses he could
find in the fan mags and even to Metal Hammer slandering me and accusing me
of the most ridiculous things - for example that it was my fault that Running
Wild sales had dropped in Japan..
At this time I had shared my worries and the reasons behind them with two
close friends whom I could thoroughly trust. I had no intention of making the
truth public. But Rolf was (and is apparently) still afraid to admit his
tales about his little blue men in public. He prefers instead to hide them in
songs such as "Sinister Eyes" and in his thanks lists - they are the "doctors
with needles" etc. (he told me in May 1992 that they use needles to inject
wisdom into every orifice of his body..) Is this perhaps the source of the
term "know-it-all asshole ? :-)
His paranoic fear that our presence could cause the story to come out led him
to bar Axel, Stefan and myself from shows in 1994 and 1996. Unfortunately,
it didn't work, because his own roadies, having had their own experiences
with him (e.g. having to stop the truck on the freeway because Rolf had
apparently spotted a UFO landing - it turned out to be a farmer) took great
delight in telling their stories to anyone who would listen - fans, other
musicians, other roadies and concert promoters. Within a year the entire
German music business knew and were laughing about him and his little blue
men - but it had come from his own roadies, not from me ! I had been forced
to take a long rest to get my strength back - no more organising concerts, no
more writing for the music press, no more concerts. I had to take it easy.
But Rolf has apparently spent these three years twisting the truth and his
own memories to such a point that he can now sadly no longer distinguish the
truth from his own twisted fantasies.
And now this Rolf Kasparek has the audacity and arrogance to come to
Switzerland, a free country viewed as the most democratic in the world and
has the nerve to attempt, using duress, threats and blackmail, to forbid a
respected citizen of that country of entering a public place - and at a place
where she is employed, at that !!!. The very idea of such audacity is
incredible. But the word was given direct by Rolf: Dane Kurth is not allowed
to enter the hall otherwise there is no show.
He would be far better off under the neo-nazi regime which he - in public at
least - pretends to abhor, than under the type of free democracy which
thousands of people all over the world have given their lives to defend.
Despite the expressed support and the encouragement of the Z7 boss, Norbert,
I did not go to the show. Rolf would almost surely have used the opportunity
to revive his hate campaign. And - more importantly, he would have used the
same duress and blackmail on the fans - his respect for them ends at their
wallets, I know him so well, and you can believe me on this.
But, unlike 1993 when I was too ill to defend myself, this time is different
and for that reason I am letting people know just some examples of the tragic
and miserable story. Unlike him, I cannot put messages of hate in CD
booklets, I cannot stand on stage and dedicate my most evil song to people,
as he did for years.
As the members of the large Z7 family know, I had promoted this concert with
great enthusiasm. I made postings to Newsgroups and forums all over the
world, I spent my own money informing former fanclub members who may
otherwise not hear about the concert. I have ordered hundreds of the band's
CDs for friends all over the world. Despite the defamation, the insults and
the accusations. Why ? Because I know that I did nothing wrong. I can either
prove every word I have written here, or I can be backed up by other people
who experienced these things with me. I know who is telling the truth. So why
does he still fear my presence ?
For this reason, there will not be a concert report, there will be no signed
posters to give away or to send as surprise gifts to fans all over the world.
(I have 20 unsigned tour posters next to my desk.) I shall never again order
a CD of this band, no matter for whom. I shall never again promote the band
in any form, nor shall I ever again send promo info, photos and stickers (all
printed out of my own pocket) to fans who still write to me.
And my old friend AC - who was himself sacked by Rolf but who is currently
working as tour manager, should be ashamed of himself for supporting the
arrogance of this deluded scumbag.
