to
older version of the client, you get an error message stating that
there is no proper decoder for the format.
- The Media Player must be version 6.x or higher running on a Windows
2000 (Win2K), NT, or Win9x machine with the latest 32-bit client.
- Dynamically scalable streams support streamed content deployment over
bandwidths ranging from 28Kbps to 1MB and from one published video
accessed through Program Neighborhood or direct from a CVI from the
Citrix server. You can adjust the total number of streams, the total
bandwidth a specific VideoFrame Server uses, and the maximum bandwidth
per stream in the VideoFrame Administration. The maximum number of
connections you can have is 200, which might require tuning because it
could bring your system to a halt.
- Color depth and resolution depend on the client and the quality of
the video, not on the limitations of the Citrix server.

Configuration issues aside, I'm impressed with the end result. Over
a 33.6Kbps connection, I saw a beautiful example of what you can do
with VideoFrame.

* HOT THREAD: PROCESSOR UTILIZATION
The following text is from a recent threaded discussion on the Windows
2000 Magazine online forums (http://www.win2000mag.com/support).

I have a Dual PIII-450 1GB RAM system that is running a 3rd party ERP
package on WinNT 4.0TS (no Citrix). One of the applications does a
major data conversion from an AS/400 flat file to an Access Database.
The process is very processor intensive. By default, my terminal server
will only give a small portion (2%) of the CPU to this job. This will
cause it to take hours to finish. The user can usually bump up the
application's priority in Task Manager, but only the active session can
control that. Is there any way to automate the process so that either
an administrator can modify the application's priority (currently get
an Access Denied message) or is there a way that when that application
is run, the server would automatically give it priority based on the
program's name?
