I only sent off the submission draft of TSK#4 on Sept. 12. Since then I've
completed the map for the final two volumes with the help of my
artist-cartgrapher, completed a long, tedious author-questionnaire for the
HarperCollins in-house crew, gone back and forth with editor and sales on
the cover for TSK#3, helped put three long articles into shape for _The
Vorkosigan Companion_, wrote (this past weekend) the promised Author's
Afterword for _Miles in Love_, scheduled travel and ear surgery, read a
stack of books *I didn't write* bwa-ha-ha-ha! ahem, 'scuse me, watched a
bunch of nature, science, and anime DVDs from Netflix, looked after some
chores for an educational trust for which I am a co-trustee (that winds up
soon, thank ghu). And all the usual life-maintenance that goes on
regardless.
Still to come before Ohioana and World Fantasy: write another preface, a
speech, and yet another e-mail interview I promised in a weak moment. Must
remember not to do that... I'm also neglecting a stack of other chores, but
I'm not looking at them right now. At some point in the next month or so,
the copy-edit of TSK#3 will appear on my doorstep.
From the prior experience, I expect to be entirely useless for the first
week after the surgery, and mostly useless for some weeks after that. So,
you're unlikely to get anything out of me except whining till after the
first of the year.
