KH7K, KURE ATOLL. It has been announced that the DXpedition to Kure Atoll
by the Pacific DX Group, which was planned for mid to late October, has
been postponed due to "transportation problems." The PDXG feels that the
next possible opportunity for an operation to Kure will be late winter or
early spring 2005. The PDXG asks that all groups or individuals who have
contributed towards this operation or are thinking of contributing, to
please continue to support their effort as they work to raise the necessary
funding. The regional fund raisers can be contacted at:

T33C BUREAU QSLS. Rob/PA2R and Flo/F5CWU have announced that this week
the first batch of OQRS QSLs will be sent via the bureau. So far around
2000 labels of max. 3 QSOs per label have been processed via OQRS, which
is a great number. Remember, registering QSOs will save the QSL Manager,
F5CWU, a lot of time to manually register all bureau cards and your
spending money on printing QSL cards. You also save time because
the time it takes to get your card to the QSL Manager is "0" days
instead of a year or more. QSOs made with T33C can be registered via
OQRS at: http://www.dx-pedition.de/banaba2004/
(Choose the Online Logs menu.)
The latest logs have been uploaded to the log search.

medicines to deliver to the mission of the AMI), cultural (they will

of Sao Tome) and also open new roads to impassable parts of the Island.
Half of the team will make use of local communications (VHF, telephones
and satellite) while Jorge will be operating the HF bands as S92LZ from
the Island of Sao Tome (IOTA AF-023) between September 19-26th, providing

TT8, CHAD. Francois, F6GYV, reports that he has received his new licence
and the callsign issued to him by the Tchadian Authorities is TT8FT. His
station in Ndjamena consists of a FT-847 Transceiver and dipole. Francois's
job is with the mobile telephone service, and he states this leaves him
with very little time to operate. Look for him to be on the air only during
his evening hours (Ndjamena time) and on Sundays. He states, "Some of you
have asked for 160 meters activity. I'll try to build an HM antenna with
my few own parts (nothing to find or buy for amateur radio gear here). More

has a Web site with online logs at: http://www.pa7fm.nl
ADDED NOTE: Michael, PA5M, will be one of the operators going to Peter I
Island in early 2005.
WFP NEWS. Ghis, ON5NT, in Dubai, UAE, provides the following updates of
amateur radio operators that are with the "UN World Food Program" (WFP)
in the following countries:
TT, CHAD. Robert, S53R (ex-YI9R, A52KR), is heading for Chad for
about a 10 day stay. He was expected to arrive there
around September 2nd. He has applied for a TT8RK or TT8KR
callsign. It is expected to hear him on the bands as early
as Monday, September 6th. Knowing Robert, this might be a
"mostly CW" operation. As he is there for work, he will
only operate during his spare time. QSL via K2PF.
ST, SUDAN. Dane, ST2T (S57CQ, ex-YI9T, A52DX), is still in the Sudan,
